laughing Mule titLed NEW FENCE
This piece was a try at what I call minimalistic carving, leaving the mill marks and the weathering to show you what I saw when first looking at the piece of first-cut lumber.  The mule is oak, the fence and rails are cedar and the barbed wire was found and barbs repositioned to gain the right spacing. Then the mule mouth and teeth were painted and the mule pyro'd.

 faux Ebony and Ivory
A Mesquite root sculpture, with limestone tusks on a White oak plaque.  He is set up to only hang at an angle and the piece wieghs in excess of 30 pounds. 20" X 19" X 10". This piece has no stain or paint, just a polyurethane sealant.

  Whats Beyond
This was a piece of curly Tupelo Gum from just above the Decoy carvers wood, it was such a pain to carver it took amost two years to complete. The only thing that kept it from the burn pile was the knot where the eye is.  It is a deep relief carving, free standing but knot a 360 carving.
